who died 11 May 2001 and wrote a book inspiring television and film makers.
Thank you to my parents, my mom and dad who are in the audience tonight. And I know there’s been a lot of thanking of mums, but this is slightly different, because my mum in 2007 was invited by some Australian friends in London to a fringe theatre play reading of an unproduced, unrehearsed play called The King’s Speech. Now she’s never been invited to a play reading in her entire life before. She almost didn’t go, because it didn’t sound exactly promising, but thank God she did, because she came home, rang me up and said ‘Tom, I think I found your next film.’ So with this tonight, I honor you, and the moral of the story is ‘Listen to your mother.’

I love the smell of Christmas baking. Banana bread smells like childhood to me. Mom used to make Banana Bread with Jiffy mix. No scratch baking for that recipe. She was a great cook and baked scratch for most other things, but she just loved Jiffy Mix. She cant bake any more so I am now trying to find the Jiffy Mix to bring back a little bit of mom. But just try to find Jiffy Baking mix in the stores here. Impossible. I looked online for a store close by that carried it. No luck. Not for over 100 miles is there a store with Jiffy Mix. Amazon has it for sale Do I order it or settle for Bisquick?
So…I settled, baked and ordered. No half way for me.
